SEFO is both a research project connecting artists working in Central Europe as well as the name of a planned modern museum building in the center of Olomouc.
The SEFO 2024 Triennial articulates itself on a triad of concepts based on the terms Monument-Document-Mockument, borrowed from the art historian, theorist and curator Octavian Eşanu.
From 27 June 2024, forty contemporary artists from Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, Belarus, Ukraine and the Czech Republic will present their works within this defined framework: MOMENTS for key moments of past, present and future, themselves reflected in MONUMENTS for supposed certainties of past and present and in MOCKUMENTS when they are balancing on the edge of reality and fiction to define a method of creative reflection.
