The Aargauer Kunsthaus collection consists of over 20,000 works of Swiss art dating back to the 18th century until the present day. In recent years, notable donations and loans — such as those from the Ringier Collection, the Federal Art Collection, the Walter A. Bechtler Foundation, or from patrons of the Aargauische Kunstsammlung — have contributed to the recognition of the collection on an international level.
The exhibition Before ∙ Between ∙ Beyond presents a selection of its latest additions in combination with other key contemporary works of art. Associating photography, sculpture, painting, video, printed graphics, and drawing with large-scale installations and site-specific works that were created especially for the show, it presents the collection in three different chapters: past, present and future.
Spread throughout the entire museum space, major new holdings confront key works of modern art dating back to the 1960s in a stunning dialogue while a Augmented Reality tour offers visitors an in-depth view of selected exhibits.
